Alright. This is silly. But, I’ve changed my mind, AGAIN, on the last song on EP3. So, Sweet Daughter of Sunshine is being moved to EP4 and Whisper of the Wind is taking her place. The reason is that this will keep EP3 more mellow, while EP4 will start out “bouncy” and, hopefully, stay that way.
I am in the process of changing up the song pages to be more informative and to allow downloading of the MP3s. Also, I’ll be adding a “Buy me a coffee” link so that people can donate a little bit to support my efforts. There’s no pressure. It’s just a way of showing appreciation if you decide to download some of the songs.
Well, I decided that I wanted a different song for #5 on EP3. So, Butterfly in Me is out and Sweet Daughter of Sunshine is in. Both were recorded awhile back on a different machine and different plugins and synths. But, Butterfly… was giving me all kinds of grief, whereas Sweet Daughter… is coming together much better. Not that it’s easy. Just easier. So, expect that over the weekend. Yes, it’s going to need that much work still. LOL
Haha. That title could mean several things. But, in this case it’s about the song on EP3. The Original was a pain. Turns out everything about it was out-of-date, including the drum machine and other plugins. So, I had to rebuild it. But, at least it was fun. Now, the SUNO Cover did turn out to have a Country accent. I tried removing it. But, I really like this particular version of the song. So, I decided to keep that first pass.
Well, that was quicker than expected. Both Original and Cover are up now on EP3. The Original only needed some minor tweaks to balance the song better. Well, better is relative. Anyway, the Cover fell into place on first shot. I decided to go with a more orchestral sound and SUNO landed it right away. I think the instrumental interlude is a bit long. But, it’s pretty. So, I left it alone.
Well, that was faster than I expected. I Don’t Want to Go to Pittsburgh, both Original and Cover are posted on EP3. Hope you enjoy!
After many hours of frustration, I’ve finally pushed up a decent SUNO Cover of The Road, which can be found on EP3. But, it was not without benefit. I’ve learned a bit more about taming SUNO’s wildness. So, hopefully, future efforts will have less “effort.” Hopefully! LOL
Well, I decided that since it sometimes take both time and patience to put together 5 Originals and 5 Covers, I decided to push up the pages first, with place holders for each song. So, right now you can read about each song on the “stories” page.
I *am* working on The Road at the moment. The original was given a new polish and I will push that up soon. But SUNO!!!! is giving me trouble with the Cover. I’ve been doing some research on how to “fix” it. But, that will need to wait another day. I’ll get it up soon.
And, the other 4 songs will slowly populate the pages. I’ll make a short post as each goes up.
OK! I’ve finally uploaded all 5 songs on EP2: both my originals and the SUNO covers. Now, to post them.
But, I’ve had a slight change of plan on that. Instead of posting both versions on each EP page, I now plan on posting only the SUNO covers with song info on the EP page. Then, I’ll create a second EP page with the originals on it and link to that page from the first.
The reason for this is simple: the originals suck, mostly. So, I want to present a pleasant face to whoever stops by to listen. This comes from my conclusion that I’m not going to make any money off of my music. So, why not just show a polished example up front. And, if someone is curious as to where it came from, they can go the the “Originals” page to see/hear them.
You can expect to see the new material by tomorrow.
The trouble with “Je”
My sincere apologies to my French speaking listeners with regard to my song “Je Suis l’Amour.” I know I have a hard time with pronouncing the soft “J” in “Je.” That hard “J” keeps sneaking in on me when I’m not thinking. It’s not the fault of my French teacher in High School. For 3 years she tried, with moderate success, to teach me the language. She even gave me some of her own copies of Paris Match in an effort to break though my stubborn learning barriers. As a side note, I still remember a headline story of the 1954 Battle of Dien Bien Phu on one of them.
Anyway, to paraphrase the chorus: these words still linger on my mind, “Non! Non! Oh mon dieu!”
